The best alcohol-free beer you can buy in a UK supermarket is Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA (8.8 in our reviews), at Tesco and Ocado. The best one you’ll find almost everywhere is Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager (8.7): Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op and Majestic all sell it.
For range, Ocado has the most, at least 47, then Tesco (34) and Morrisons (33). For price, Aldi’s own Sainte Etienne is 69p for 500ml (£1.38 a litre), and at shelf price the cheapest big brand is Stella Artois Alcohol Free in Asda’s ten-pack (£1.95 a litre).
Links to the supermarkets are ordinary links: we earn nothing from them. Links to Dry Drinker and Wise Bartender are affiliate links, so if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How we make money.
Supermarkets have come a long way with alcohol-free beer. Most now sell a few genuinely good ones next to the big-brand lagers, and the best, from Athletic Brewing and Lucky Saint, earn some of the highest scores we’ve given. But ranges vary a lot from shop to shop, so it pays to know where to go for what.
We went through each supermarket’s website on 9 October 2026, matched every beer to our reviews and noted the price. Pick a supermarket guide for the full list, or start here for the comparison.

No supermarket is cheapest for everything. Morrisons had the lowest prices on Heineken 0.0 and Peroni 0.0, Asda on Stella Artois, Ocado on Corona Cero, Tesco on Guinness 0.0 and Waitrose on single bottles. Co-op was the dearest for every pack in the table that it sells, so it’s best for a top-up rather than a big shop.
Each guide lists every alcohol-free beer the supermarket sells, with prices for each pack, our picks and the offers running now.

Waitrose sells 20 alcohol-free beers online and 7 of them score 8 or more with us: more than a third, the highest share of the supermarkets we checked. That includes all three Lucky Saint beers we’ve rated, Beavertown Lazer Crush and Mash Gang Chug XPA (8.4), which we didn’t find at any other supermarket. Its price cuts were good when we checked: Adnams Ghost Ship £1.35 and Erdinger £1.55 a bottle, and Punk AF and Corona Cero £4 a four-pack. See the range at Waitrose.
Ocado has the biggest range we found: at least 47 alcohol-free beers, including four from Athletic Brewing (Run Wild IPA, 8.8, Free Wave Hazy IPA, 8.7, Upside Dawn, 8.5 and Lager, 8.2), which were any two four-packs for £8 when we checked. It also has Drop Bear’s Yuzu Pale Ale (8.5) and Bonfire Stout (8.3), and M&S’s own alcohol-free beers. There’s a £40 minimum basket. See the range at Ocado.
Co-op delivers from local stores, in as little as an hour, from £1.99 with a £15 minimum. The range is small, at least 12 beers, but it covers the essentials: Lucky Saint, Guinness 0.0, Adnams Ghost Ship and Punk AF. Singles cost more here: a single 330ml Lucky Saint is £2.85, against £1.60 at Ocado, though singles were 4 for 3 until 13 October. Prices and range depend on your local store. See the range at Co-op.
We found two of M&S’s own alcohol-free beers on sale: an Alcohol Free Czech Lager (0.5%, £5 for four 330ml) and an Alcohol Free Peachy Pale Ale brewed with Renegade Brewery (0.5%, £1.65 a can). M&S’s own website doesn’t sell beer, so buy them in store or through Ocado, where those prices come from.
Majestic sells alcohol-free beer by the case: Lucky Saint (twelve 330ml, £18.60), Erdinger (twelve 500ml, £19.20) and Estrella Galicia 0.0 (twelve 330ml, £10.20), plus Guinness 0.0 at £6 a four-pack. Delivery is free over £99, so it works best if you’re ordering wine too. See the range at Majestic.
Costco’s only alcohol-free beer online is a 24-pack of Peroni 0.0, and that’s for Business Delivery members only.
Only three of the supermarkets we checked make their own alcohol-free beer, and Aldi’s are the cheapest alcohol-free beer we found anywhere.
Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose and Co-op had no own-brand alcohol-free beer online when we checked.
Supermarkets stock the big names and a handful of craft beers. Some of the best alcohol-free beers we’ve reviewed aren’t on any supermarket shelf we checked, but the specialist shops deliver them across the UK and let you mix your own case. These six were in stock on 9 October.

Pillowy and soft, with huge mango, papaya and passion fruit. Our joint top-scoring IPA, and no supermarket we checked sells it.

Coffee, dark chocolate and sweet cream, full-bodied and velvety. Richer and creamier than Guinness 0.0.

A hazy Danish IPA with ripe mango, citrus and floral hops and a silky body, at 0.3%.

A juicy, hoppy Australian pale ale: tropical fruit, soft haze and a dry finish.

A Norwegian IPA with real grapefruit: zesty, cleanly bitter and very refreshing.

Citra, Chinook and Columbus hops give citrus and pine, with a clean, dry finish. An everyday pale ale, not a substitute.
For the best beers, Tesco and Ocado: both sell Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA (8.8 in Unhopped’s reviews), and Ocado has the biggest range we found, at least 47 alcohol-free beers. Of the supermarkets, Waitrose has the highest share of beers we rate: 7 of its 20 score 8 or more.
Aldi. Its own Sainte Etienne Alcohol Free Lager is 69p for 500ml (£1.38 a litre) and Rheinbacher Pilsner 0% is £3.29 for six 330ml. For big brands, Asda’s ten-pack of Stella Artois Alcohol Free is £8.56 (£1.95 a litre), and Tesco’s Clubcard Price on the same pack is £7.50 until 2 November.
Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager, our highest-scoring lager at 8.7. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op and Majestic all sell it.
Three do: Lidl (Perlenbacher 0.0%), Aldi (Rheinbacher Pilsner 0% and Sainte Etienne) and M&S (Alcohol Free Czech Lager and Peachy Pale Ale). Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose and Co-op had none online when we checked.
Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado and Co-op all deliver it with your grocery shop. M&S’s own beers come through Ocado, and Majestic sells it by the case. Aldi and Lidl don’t sell groceries online, so theirs is in store only.
Yes, plenty. 22 of Tesco’s 34 alcohol-free beers are 0.0%, and so are 16 of Sainsbury’s 28. The best-rated 0.0% beer on supermarket shelves is Guinness 0.0 (8.1).
For the best beer, go to Tesco or Ocado for Athletic Brewing, and pick up Lucky Saint wherever you shop. For the lowest price, Aldi’s own lagers win, and Asda is best for big brands. For everything else, the specialists deliver.
How we checked. On 9 October 2026 we read the alcohol-free beer on the websites of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op, Majestic, M&S, Costco, Aldi and Lidl. Asda, Ocado, Co-op and Majestic don’t show their whole range in one place, so their counts are what we could confirm. Prices are online prices that day; in-store prices and offers can differ. The Lidl and Aldi taste-test results are from Which? (14 April 2026). Scores come from Unhopped’s own reviews. Spotted a change? Tell us.
