The short answer
The best alcohol-free beer at Sainsbury’s is Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager, our top-scoring lager at 8.7: £6 for four 330ml, or £13.50 for ten. For something darker, Theakston Nowt Peculier (8.0) is a 0.0% Yorkshire dark ale we didn’t find at any other supermarket.

Links to the supermarkets are ordinary links: we earn nothing from them. Links to Dry Drinker and Wise Bartender are affiliate links, so if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How we make money.
Sainsbury’s range is smaller than Tesco’s but well chosen. There are 4 Lucky Saint beers, Guinness 0.0 in four and ten-packs, and two beers we didn’t find at any other supermarket: Theakston Nowt Peculier and BrewDog Hazy Jane AF.
We went through every alcohol-free beer on sainsburys.co.uk on 9 October 2026 and matched each one to our reviews. Nectar Prices change often, and this week’s run until Tuesday 13 October.
Hazy pale gold, bready malt and a clean, dry finish, with more body than almost any alcohol-free lager. Our top-scoring lager, and the one to buy if you only buy one.
Better value in the 10 × 330ml pack: £13.50, £4.09 a litre.
It looks exactly like Guinness in the glass, with the same roasted barley, dry coffee and creamy head. A touch lighter in body than the real thing, so serve it cold.
A true 0.0% dark ale from Theakston of Masham, with the rich, roasty character of the house style. Drink it cellar-cool with a pie, a stew or a strong cheddar.
Of the supermarkets we checked, only Sainsbury’s sells it.
