The story behind Corona Cero
Corona has been brewed since 1925 at Mexico City’s Cervecería Modelo, and Corona Extra grew into the world’s best-selling Mexican lager — beer as shorthand for beach, lime wedge and sunshine. Corona Cero, rolled out across Europe (including the UK) in 2022, brought that branding to 0.0% with AB InBev’s full distribution muscle behind it, and quickly became one of the UK’s biggest-selling alcohol-free beers.
Corona Cero became the first worldwide beer sponsor of the Olympic Games, fronting AB InBev's IOC partnership from Paris 2024 — a mainstream moment for the whole category.
