The story behind Corona Cero
Corona has been brewed since 1925 at Mexico City’s Cervecería Modelo, and Corona Extra grew into the world’s best-selling Mexican lager — beer as shorthand for beach, lime wedge and sunshine. Corona Cero, launched globally in 2022, brought that branding to 0.0% with AB InBev’s full distribution muscle behind it, and quickly became one of the UK’s biggest-selling alcohol-free beers.
It even carried the Olympic flame: Corona Cero became the first beer brand to be a worldwide Olympic sponsor, fronting the partnership from Paris 2024 — a mainstream-moment for the whole category.
