Corona Cero Review: The 0.0% Beer Made for Sunshine
Published June 2026 · 5-minute read · by Rich, founder of Unhopped

There’s a particular kind of afternoon Corona was made for: the sun’s out, someone’s fired up the grill, and you want something cold in your hand that doesn’t ask anything of you. Corona Cero is built for exactly that moment — only this one you can enjoy from the first beer of the day to the last, and still drive everyone home.
Corona Cero is in stock now at Dry Drinker — delivered to your door.

Corona is one of the world’s most recognisable beers — a Mexican lager first brewed by Grupo Modelo in 1925, and now part of AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer. Corona Cero is its 0.0% alcohol-free version: the same beach-and-sunshine identity, the same clear bottle and lime ritual, without the alcohol.
It also has a claim no other alcohol-free beer can make. In 2024, Corona Cero became the first-ever official beer sponsor of the Olympic Games, leading AB InBev’s worldwide partnership with the International Olympic Committee from Paris 2024 through to Los Angeles 2028 and beyond. For a 0.0% beer to take centre stage at the world’s biggest sporting event says a lot about how far alcohol-free has come.
Corona Cero on a warm summer’s day
This is where Corona Cero belongs. It’s a light-bodied, easy-drinking lager — gently sweet, clean, faintly citrusy — designed to be served properly cold. The trick is the same as it’s always been: drop a wedge of lime into the neck, let it sink, and drink it straight from the bottle in the sun.
Because it’s 0.0%, it does something the original never could. You can have one with lunch, another in the afternoon and a third while you’re flipping burgers, and stay completely clear-headed — no fuzziness creeping into a good day, no write-off the next morning. For a long, hot afternoon in the garden or an actual day on the beach, that’s the whole point.
What does Corona Cero taste like?
Light, crisp and refreshing, with a soft cereal sweetness and a clean, dry finish. It’s not a big, hop-forward beer and isn’t trying to be — it’s a thirst-quencher, deliberately uncomplicated, best ice-cold. With the lime it’s bright and zesty; without it, a gentle, sessionable lager. Served warm it loses its magic, so keep it in the coldest part of the fridge.
Is Corona Cero worth buying?
If you want a fuss-free, genuinely refreshing alcohol-free lager for hot weather, Corona Cero is one of the easiest recommendations we can make. It won’t convert a hardcore hophead — but that was never the brief. As a poolside, barbecue, beach-bag beer that happens to be 0.0%, it nails exactly what it sets out to do.
Stock a few cold ones before a sunny weekend and you’ll be glad you did.
