The story behind Free Damm
Free Damm is the true-0.0 lager of Damm, the Barcelona brewing giant behind Estrella Damm, whose roots go back to 1876. In Spain — Europe’s most established alcohol-free beer culture — Free Damm is simply part of the café furniture: an unremarkable everyday order, which is precisely the point.
Golden, lightly malty and floral, it’s built for tapas hours and sunshine. See how it stacks up against Estrella Galicia 0,0, San Miguel and the rest in our Spanish alcohol-free guide — and while you’re there, note the chicharrónes pairing. Salty pork snacks and Spanish zeros are a match centuries in the making.
Serve it Spanish-style: very cold, small glass, refilled often, with something salty — olives, almonds, jamón if you’re not keeping it pork-free, chicharrónes if you are. As a true 0.0 it’s also a sensible lunchtime beer in the most literal sense.
