The story behind Changing Tides
Toast brews with a purpose you can taste in the backstory: founded by food-waste campaigner Tristram Stuart after he watched skip-loads of fresh sandwich crusts binned daily, it replaces a share of malted barley with surplus fresh bread — and gives all its distributable profits to charities fixing the food system. It was the first UK brewery certified as a B Corp and holds a Queen’s Award for sustainable development.
Changing Tides applies that model at 0.5%: surplus bread, malted barley and English hops making a light, gently citrus-and-spice lager at 25 kcal — possibly the most productive thing a beer in your hand can be doing.
