The story behind Changing Tides

Toast brews with a purpose you can taste in the backstory: founded by food-waste campaigner Tristram Stuart after he watched skip-loads of fresh sandwich crusts binned daily, it replaces a share of malted barley with surplus fresh bread — and gives all its distributable profits to charities fixing the food system. Toast says it was the first UK brewery to become a certified B Corp (2018), and it holds a 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

Changing Tides applies that model at 0.5%: surplus bread, malted barley and English hops making a light, gently citrus-and-spice lager — possibly the most productive thing a beer in your hand can be doing.
