The story behind Super Bock 0.0
Super Bock is the best-selling Portuguese beer in the world — a Porto icon since 1927 that won a gold medal at the city’s Palácio de Cristal exhibition before it was even a registered trademark. Its alcohol-free pedigree is unusually serious: the group entered the NA segment back in 2005 and developed its de-alcoholisation process with the University of Porto’s Faculty of Engineering.
The beers are fully fermented first, then the alcohol is removed — which is why this true 0.0 tastes like a finished pilsner rather than a stopped one: light gold, floral hops, dry refreshing finish, 22 kcal.
