The story behind Pumpkin Weizen
A pumpkin wheat beer from Amsterdam’s botanical brewery is exactly as unusual as it sounds — and very Lowlander. Founder Frederik Kampman’s gin-trained instinct is to brew flavour from plants rather than alcohol, often rescuing surplus ingredients along the way, and the brewery now makes nothing but no- and low-alcohol beer.
This seasonal weizen brings spiced, gently warming pumpkin character to a soft wheat base at 0.3% and 40 kcal — genuinely unlike anything else in our 234-beer directory, and proof that alcohol-free seasonal brewing can be playful rather than tokenistic.
