The story behind Lowlander 0.00 Wit
Lowlander was founded in Amsterdam in 2015 by Frederik Kampman, who came to beer from the gin world with a simple thesis: let botanicals carry the flavour, and alcohol becomes optional. The brewery has since gone all the way — it now brews only no- and low-alcohol beers — and this wit is the thesis in a glass.
Brewed with botanicals including lemongrass and ginger, it’s bright, zesty and properly refreshing at a true 0.0% and just 35 kcal — a modern reading of the spice-ship Dutch brewing tradition Kampman set out to revive, made by a team that donates 1% of sales to nature causes.
