The story behind Right to Roam

Burnside brews in Aberdeenshire with pure Scottish mountain water and locally malted barley, and Right to Roam is its award-winning alcohol-free flagship — the name a tip of the cap to Scotland’s open-access tradition, which feels exactly right for a beer built for hillwalks and designated drivers alike.

At 0.5% it delivers a proper IPA experience: assertive hops over a clean malt base, with the provenance doing real work in the glass. Scottish AF craft is quietly excellent, and this is one of its standard-bearers.

It’s the rucksack beer of the directory — summit sandwiches, post-walk pub gardens, long drives home. More from the brewery on our Burnside hub, and more UK picks in the best-of-UK round-up.
