The story behind The Wit

Brauhaus Nittenau — a Bavarian communal brewhouse first recorded in 1762, now run by fifth-generation master brewer and beer sommelier Sebastian Jakob — reinvented itself around alcohol-free after developing a new AF production process in 2016. It’s the rare old-world brewery where the zeros are the headline act, brewed largely on the site’s own solar power.

The Wit is its Belgian excursion: orange-peel-and-coriander brightness on a hazy wheat base, a style swap executed with Oberpfalz precision.

Serve cold with seafood, salads or sunshine. Its stablemates — a designated-driver IPA and a coffee porter — complete one of the most interesting AF ranges in Germany; all three are on our Nittenauer hub.
