Frequently asked questions
How many calories are in Nirvana Dark & Rich?
Nirvana Dark & Rich has 20 kcal per 100ml (about 66 kcal per 330ml), from the label figures we checked in October 2026. That puts it in the middle of the 12 alcohol-free stouts and porters with a published figure in our calorie comparison tool, which compares every beer per 100ml.
Is Nirvana Dark & Rich really alcohol-free at 0.5%?
Nirvana Dark & Rich is 0.5% ABV. UK government guidance (which is voluntary) reserves 'alcohol-free' for 0.05% or below, so technically that's low alcohol, or de-alcoholised if the alcohol was removed after brewing — though 0.5% is comparable to the trace alcohol found naturally in ripe fruit or fresh orange juice. We explain the difference in our 0.0% vs 0.5% guide.
How does Nirvana Dark & Rich rate?
Nirvana Dark & Rich scores 7.9/10 on Unhopped — currently #16 of 17 rated alcohol-free stouts. Ratings come from real tastings via the Unhopped app community.
