Tartarus is a Yorkshire brewery better known for monstrous imperial stouts, which makes this delicate 0.5% table beer a charming about-face — Citra and Mosaic hops giving bright tropical notes over a soft malt base, crisp and easy.

‘Table beer’ is the old Belgian idea of low-strength beer for everyday meals — arguably the spiritual ancestor of the whole alcohol-free movement — and Spright is a lovely modern reading of it.
