The Lowest-Carb Alcohol-Free Beers, According to the Labels
Here's the thing nobody tells you: alcohol-free beer often has more carbohydrate than the full-strength version. Alcohol itself carries no carbs, so when it's removed — or never brewed in — what's left is mostly malt sugars, and plenty of alcohol-free beers lean on residual sweetness for body. If you're counting carbs, whatever your reason, most of the category is flying blind: the majority of breweries don't publish a carbohydrate figure at all.
A handful do — and their numbers are excellent. This page ranks every beer in our directory with published, verifiable carb data, straight from the labels, lowest first. No estimates, no diet advice, no beers we couldn't verify. Just the numbers, and where to buy the ones that earn their place.

The ranking
UNLTD IPA
UNLTD · 0.5% · 1.0g carbs / 0.1g sugars / 4 kcal — per 100ml, per label
The lowest published carb count we've found on any alcohol-free beer in our directory: 1g per 100ml, with sugars at a rounding-error 0.1g. Remarkably, it still drinks like a proper hop-forward IPA — bright citrus, tropical fruit, clean bitter finish. Vegan and gluten-free, and new to our directory this month.
Buy from Wise Bartender →UNLTD Lager
UNLTD · 0.5% · 1.7g carbs / 0.1g sugars / 7 kcal — per 100ml, per label
Same brewery, same near-zero sugar figure, in an easy-drinking lager: 1.7g carbs per 100ml with light citrus over a clean malt body. Comes in 568ml pint cans, and like its IPA sibling it's vegan and gluten-free.
Buy from Wise Bartender →Days Lager
Days Brewing · 0.0% · 2.1g carbs / <0.5g sugars / 10 kcal — per 100ml, per label
The strongest true-0.0% option with published numbers: 2.1g carbs per 100ml, sugars under 0.5g, from a B-Corp Scottish brewery that built the beer alcohol-free from scratch. Clean, grassy and genuinely refreshing — our reference budget-calorie lager is also a low-carb contender.
Buy from Dry Drinker →Heaps Normal Quiet XPA
Heaps Normal · 0.5% · 4.0g carbs / 1.4g sugars / 17 kcal — per 100ml, per label
The proof that low-carb needn't mean low-flavour: Australia's cult XPA publishes 4g per 100ml and still lands an 8.5/10 with our community — real hop character, proper body, the best-tasting beer on this page by a distance.

Is alcohol-free beer keto?
That depends entirely on the beer and on how you count — and it's your call, not ours. What we can give you is the data: published carbs in alcohol-free beer range from about 1g per 100ml (UNLTD IPA) to well over 5g in maltier styles, so a 330ml can might carry anywhere from ~3g to ~18g of carbohydrate. We publish the label numbers; what fits your way of eating is between you and your own maths.
Does alcohol-free beer have more carbs than normal beer?
Often, yes — and it surprises everyone. Alcohol itself contains no carbohydrate, so when it's removed or never produced, what remains is mostly malt-derived carbs; many alcohol-free beers keep extra residual sweetness for body. That's why the low-carb exceptions on this page are worth knowing about: they're brewed specifically to finish dry.
Which alcohol-free beer has the lowest carbs?
Of the beers with published data in our directory, UNLTD IPA is lowest at 1g per 100ml with 0.1g sugars, followed by UNLTD Lager (1.7g) and Days Lager (2.1g). Most alcohol-free breweries don't publish carbohydrate figures at all — we've only ranked the ones that do.
Why do so few alcohol-free beers list their carbs?
UK labelling rules require energy (calories) on most drinks but full nutrition tables are often voluntary, so many breweries publish calories only. When a brewery does publish carbs — as UNLTD, Days and Heaps Normal do — it's usually because the numbers are good. Absence of data isn't evidence of low carbs; if anything, assume the opposite.
What about calories?
Different question, different page: our lowest-calorie alcohol-free beers ranking covers the whole directory by kcal, and the calorie tool compares any beers side by side. Carbs and calories don't always move together — Guinness 0.0 is featherweight on calories but doesn't publish a carb figure.
Data sources: nutrition figures as published by UNLTD (via Wise Bartender product listings), Days Brewing and Heaps Normal, checked August 2026. Figures are per 100ml as labelled; recipes change — the can in your hand is the final word.
