A 0.5% American pale ale brewed with six New World hops. Retailers describe pink grapefruit, mango and guava with a fiery, peppery finish: “Easy drinking & thirst-quenching yet bold”. Mash Gang no longer sells it on its own shop, and we found only the last two cans in one London bottle shop.
What is HAWG?
When the London bottle shop Clapton Craft stocked HAWG in January 2024, it described the beer as “a throwback to their favourite noughties craft beers”. Mash Gang’s trade copy opens: “We first got into craft beer because we wanted to be blown away by flavour.”
Retailers say it uses “six different classic New World hops”, without naming them, on a solid malt backbone, and describe “pithy pink grapefruit, mango and guava notes with a fine, fiery, peppery finish”. Beergonzo lists it as vegan and not gluten-free. Mash Gang hasn’t published the full ingredients or a calorie figure.
Mash Gang no longer sells it on its own shop, and Dry Drinker and Wise Bartender don’t list it. Of the bottle shops we found, Beergonzo had sold out and Clapton Craft in London showed its last two cans when we checked in October 2026. About Mash Gang
Mash Gang began in 2020, during the first lockdown, as a home-brewing project between friends, and it makes only alcohol-free beer. It has no brewery of its own: its beers are brewed to 0.5% with partner breweries, which have included Northern Monk in Leeds and Fierce Beer in Aberdeen, and from 2026 Hall & Woodhouse in Dorset. The non-alcoholic drinks company DioniLife has owned it since 2024. Its core range today is Chug, Glug and Journey Juice, alongside Lesser Evil, a cherry chocolate stout.
