CAMRA’s real ale vouchers are the single most tangible member benefit — and the most-asked-about. Here’s exactly what you get, where you can spend them, and how to make them cover your membership.
What are CAMRA vouchers?
Every year, CAMRA members receive a booklet of 60 vouchers worth 50p each — £30 in total for single members, or £40 for joint members. They’re officially called Real Ale, Cider & Perry vouchers, and they knock money off pints at participating pubs. New members get them in the post with their welcome pack; existing members receive a fresh set each year on renewal.
Where can I spend CAMRA vouchers?
The vouchers are accepted at over 1,200 participating pubs across the UK. The biggest partner by far is JD Wetherspoon — almost every ‘Spoons takes them — alongside Stonegate, Proper Pubs and many independents. The easiest way to check a specific pub is CAMRA’s own participating-pub list, or simply ask at the bar.
Using CAMRA vouchers in Wetherspoon
Wetherspoon is where most members spend their vouchers, and it’s straightforward: order your real ale at the bar (or note the voucher when ordering on the Wetherspoon app), and hand over a 50p voucher against the pint. You can typically use more than one on a round, subject to the pub’s terms. Vouchers apply to real ale, cider and perry — not to lager, wine, spirits or, sadly, alcohol-free pints.
How much are CAMRA vouchers worth?
£30 a year for single membership; £40 for joint. Because they’re 50p tokens, they work as a discount rather than free pints — a £4.20 real ale becomes £3.70 with one voucher. Used across a year of pub visits, a regular drinker comfortably redeems the full £30, which is the heart of the is-it-worth-it maths: the vouchers alone can return most of your membership fee.
Before free festival entry, 3,600+ pub discounts and BEER magazine. Under-26 and Direct Debit savings reduce it further. Prices vary — check CAMRA for live rates.

Honestly, no — the vouchers apply to real ale, cider and perry, so they don’t cover 0.0% or 0.5% pints. If you drink alcohol-free, that’s worth weighing up before joining: we’ve written a frank take in is CAMRA worth it if you drink alcohol-free?. The short version: the vouchers are less useful to you, but the campaigning, festivals and pub-saving work still are.
How do I get CAMRA vouchers?
You get them automatically by joining CAMRA — there’s no separate step. Membership starts from around £34 a year, and you can get £5 off with code ALE71 through our offer link. Buying for someone else? A CAMRA gift membership comes with the same £30 of vouchers, making it a genuinely useful present for a real-ale lover. Once you join, your voucher booklet arrives with your welcome pack.
Click through, pick your membership, and enter ALE71 at checkout for £5 off any single, joint or gift membership.
Vouchers are just one perk — members also get free entry to 100+ beer festivals in 2026.
