Veltins: five generations of Sauerland pilsner
Brauerei C. & A. Veltins is one of Germany's largest private breweries, based in the Sauerland village of Grevenstein since 1824 and run by the Veltins family for five generations.
On Unhopped, Veltins is represented by Veltins Pilsener 0.0, an alcohol-free version of its flagship pilsner at 0.0% ABV.
From country brewery to national brand
A small guesthouse brewery opened in Grevenstein in 1824. Clemens Veltins — who had travelled as far as Milwaukee to learn the trade — took it over in 1852, and his twin sons Carl and Anton gave the brewery the C. & A. Veltins name. It has stayed in family hands ever since, led since 1994 by Susanne Veltins.
Soft water, one style
The exceptionally soft spring water of the Sauerland hills suits pilsner perfectly, and Veltins has brewed exclusively in the pilsner style since 1926, strictly to the Reinheitsgebot. Today it is among Germany's best-selling beers.
The alcohol-free pilsner
Veltins Pilsener 0.0 brings that clean, crisp, hop-balanced pilsner character to 0.0% ABV — a refreshing alcohol-free lager from one of Germany's most modern private breweries.
Why Veltins matters
A five-generation family pilsner specialist, brewing one style supremely well, makes for a dependable and authentic alcohol-free German pils.
