Bero is the premium alcohol-free beer brand co-founded by British actor Tom Holland, born from his own sobriety journey and built around classic beer styles named after his British roots.

Who are Bero?

Bero was co-founded by actor Tom Holland and launched in October 2024. Holland had been sober for around two years when he started the project, and the brand grew directly out of that experience — he wanted something genuinely good to drink in social settings rather than a token alcohol-free option. The name and the beers lean into his British heritage even though the brand launched in the US.

The brewing is led by master brewer Grant Wood, who brings around 40 years of experience to the project — he previously held a senior brewing role at Boston Beer (Samuel Adams) and founded Revolver Brewing in 2012. Bero launched in the US at Target, where it became the retailer's best-selling non-alcoholic beverage debut, before expanding more widely.

What makes Bero different?

A celebrity brand with real brewing behind it

Plenty of celebrity drinks brands are licensing exercises. Bero is closer to the opposite: Holland is hands-on with the product, and the brewing is run by a 40-year industry veteran. The beers are made by traditional fermentation (which is why each still contains a trace of alcohol, under 0.5% ABV), with no added sugar and a relatively low calorie count of roughly 70–90 per can.

British heritage, American production

The Bero range is a love letter to Holland's upbringing. Each beer is named after a piece of his story — but the beer itself is brewed in the United States in collaboration with American brewers, and launched US-first. It's a British-rooted brand with American production, which is worth knowing if provenance matters to you.

Premium positioning

Bero sits at the premium end of the category — the distinctive gold can, the design, and the price point all signal a lifestyle product rather than a value buy. For drinkers who want an alcohol-free beer that feels like an occasion, that's part of the appeal; for everyday drinking, the price is a consideration.

The Bero range

We list three Bero beers, each named after Holland's British heritage: Kingston Golden Pils (a crisp European-style pilsner named after his hometown, Kingston upon Thames), Edge Hill Hazy IPA (a tropical, hop-forward New England-style IPA named after his school), and Noon Wheat (a cloudy wheat beer with a citrus finish, named after his and Zendaya's dog, Noon). A West Coast-style IPA, Double Tasty, has since joined the US line-up.

Is Bero worth trying?

For drinkers curious about one of the most talked-about new entrants in the alcohol-free category, Bero is worth a look — the brewing pedigree is real and the beers are well made. The Edge Hill Hazy IPA in particular has earned praise from non-alcoholic beer enthusiasts. The main reservations are price (it's a premium product) and provenance (US-brewed despite the British branding). If those don't bother you, it's a genuinely good range.
